Today - we will be filling out Short Story Outlines on "The Pedestrian".

Students will also be looking back through the story and picking out

5 - descriptions/imagery that they feel appealing
there was a good crystal frost in the air it cut the nose and made lungs blaze like a christmas tree.
with only his shadow moving like the shadow of a hawk in mid country
these highways like streames in a dry season
were people sat like the dead
he walked like a man suddenly drunk
5 - examples of figurative language
it was not like walking through a graveyard where only the faintest glimmers of fiery light appeared in flickers behind room.
Every thing went on in the tomb like houses
To put your feet on the buckling concrete.
picking up a leaf as he walked, examining his skeletal look and smelling its rusty smell
sudden gray phantoms seemed to manifest upon inner room walls where a curtain was undrawn against the night

They will post these on the blogs with 2-3 sentences discussing how imagery and/or figurative language makes this story more effective.
It adds a type of detail and feel to the story not only describing the locations description, but more like a time about how long its been since another person besides leonard has been out side. also makes gives a type of feeling that we kind sense what things and emotions the character and reader should feel.
