Today - you will hand in your short story outlines.  Then we will move onto "THERE WILL BE SOFT RAINS".

Commiserate=to feel or express sorrow or sympathy for; empathize with; pity. verb

The elder commiserated the the daughter of her dead mom by sending her a necklace that belonged to her. 

Indomitable= that cannot be subdued or overcome, as persons, will, or courage; unconquerable: adj.
The criminal was indomitable and able to escape the police after a week of hiding.

Rudimentary=or first principles; elementary: adj.
The biology class was still getting Fs despite this being a rudimentary subject about molecules. 

Savoring=the quality in a substance that affects the sense of taste or of smell. noun

The savoring smell of the beef stew made all the weak slaves go mad with hunger pain. They tried to gnaw through the bamboo cage.

Voluble= characterized by a ready and continuous flow of words; fluent; glib; talkative: adj. The debate team had a voluble argument that stretched for hours one night.

Wizened=withered; shriveled adj. The shriveled inmate thought he could assert his power in the prisons court, but was later shanked and had his back thrown out. He died in less than a few minutes

Fusillade=a simultaneous or continuous discharge of firearms. noun  

Maladroit= lacking in adroitness; unskillful; awkward; bungling; tactless: Adj.

HW - Write the sequel to "The Pedestrian".  What happens to Leonard Mead once he reaches the pyscho ward.  Will they cure him?  Will he escape?  Will he finally learn to like TV?
